The Black Widow - Model: Kristen Lynn B / MUA & Hair: Danelle Wood
Equipment: Canon 5D Mark II, Canon EF 50mm 1.2L, Canon Speedlite 430 EX II, Canon Speedlite 580 EX II, and Lastolite Ezybox.
This image required a lot of post-processing, as the lighting conditions of the hotel lobby that it was shot in was very warm and orange-colored.  I did not use the 580 EX II as a flash, but instead used it to trigger the 430 EX II which was within the Ezybox for softer lighting.  This shoot taught me the importance of a hair light, but the darkness worked in favor of creating the ‘wicked’ look I was going for.
The story behind the concept of ‘The Black Widow’ shoot was that it was a tale of a gold digger during the 1920’s, modeled after Madame Villefort from The Count of Monte Cristo.
